Eight of the top ten models on the EPA's Fuel Economy Leaders list for 2008 are manufactured by AIAM members.
Starting in 1999, AIAM members were the first to offer American consumers hybrid electric vehicles and have now sold more than a half-million hybrids in the United States. For the 2007 model year, AIAM members offer eight hybrid models – six cars and two SUVs.
AIAM companies are developing advanced technology vehicles by investing in the research and development of models powered by fuel cells, clean diesel, electricity, hybrid technology and natural gas.
Economic Impact
The Association of International Automobile Manufacturers, Inc. (AIAM) is a trade association representing 14 international motor vehicle manufacturers whose U.S. market share is 40 percent and growing.
